A Friendly Little Note on Articles and Reviews (And Legal Disclaimers, if you’re into that sort of thing)
I just want to get one thing out there right from the start:
I’m not an authority on anything I write about.
I don’t have a degree in photography and I’m not a renowned professional. I just love creating images.
I write reviews and articles to share what I’ve come across in my experiments. Generally, I write only what I want to read and what I wish I could already find on web. There are other websites with more technical reviews of gear, but I’m just interested in reporting my own experiences with obscure equipment.
Think of me as a second opinion. You can get millions of people weighing in on the newest DSLR, but good luck if you want to find out if a Polaroid Impulse AF has the controls you need.
So that’s why I’m here, to give you everything I know about the weird formats I like to play with. Generally, film info is hard to come by on the web since those who are smart enough to shoot it generally don’t waste their time on the internet like I tend to.
I don’t have a lot of resources, and I do this out of my own pocket, so I’ll do my best to cover all the formats. Cost simply prohibits me from shooting as much as I’d like.
If you’re new to photography, you really should invest your precious time in books like the Art of Photography before messing around with crazy gear and reading websites like this. I generally write for experienced photographers, artists, and hobbyists who already know composition, meaning, and all those fun things that make an image worth looking at.
I hope you enjoy what I put up here, and if you ever have any corrections or suggestions, feel free to email me (you can find my address in the image at the bottom of the page) or contact me on Twitter, I’d love to hear from you!
