Old Town, the tv pilot that I co-directed is now stream-able (is that a word?) on-demand through the producers’ IndieGoGo! For ten bucks you can watch the 22-minute episode as many times as your heart desires. You can also watch the trailer below.
Old Town follows the three different stories of people working to make it in Chicago. Frank and Ron are two cops who can’t catch a break with families that don’t want anything to do with them, Caston and Peter Pan are two kids who’ve started their own jolly gang of kids living in the train tunnels, and Glory and Sandy are two wealthy older women who can barely stay sober long enough to deliver a speech. All played by legendary improvisers Brett and Josh of Michael Pizza fame, Old Town is a darkly comedic look at how two people can hold each other up even under the worst that life can throw at them.
We’re going to be shopping this around and sending off to festivals, so this IndieGoGo campaign is the only way to see the pilot for a long time. If you’ve always wondered what Portlandia would be like if directed by Louie C.K., you should definitely check it out!
