I’m Dan. I love making stuff, telling stories, and taking care of a French Bulldog named Sofie. Below is a bio for anyone who needs it.

Hailing from the Midwest, Dan is a co-owner and producer at Polymyth Productions, a video production company that has created thousands of videos for a wide variety of clients around the world since 2011.

Dan is also a photographer who specializes in instant film. He’s published hundreds of guides, articles, and reviews on his website danfinnen.com, which has been viewed and shared millions of times around the world. He also shares photography guides on his YouTube channel under the handle danfinnen.

Writing, be it scripts, stories, or novels, is Dan’s passion. He hosts and produces the Chicago Writers Podcast, the official podcast of the Stories Matter Foundation.

Finally, Dan is also the creator and host of Super Gear Land, a goofy YouTube channel dedicated to all things retro gaming.

Dan has been hard of hearing since he was a small child and is a lifelong advocate for those with hearing loss. He wears hearing aids in both ears.

His favorite food is Cincinnati’s Skyline Chili. LaRosa’s Pizza is a close second.

Dan has run two marathons and has a lifelong goal to complete the Krispy Kreme Challenge in under an hour (that’s a real race in NC where you run 5 miles and eat 12 donuts). So far, his PR is 1:12. (2025 update: I did it in 1:03! So close!) Maybe next year…
