For the first time in decades, it’s a new Polaroid camera! Well, sort of. The Impossible Project, now Polaroid Originals, made their first attempt at a new Polaroid camera with the I-1 last year. It was an ambitious camera, but the simplified, streamlined, and significantly cheaper OneStep 2 is exactly the camera the company needed to release to compete with Fuji Instax.
The OneStep 2 is a great camera for beginners (it makes a great gift!), but if you already have Polaroid cameras, there’s no reason to pick one up. Even the cheapest fixed-focus Polaroid cameras are on par with it, and more advanced cameras like the Spectra System, Impulse AF, and SLR 680 far surpass it in quality.
